Name of Apple's NeXT OS?
I came across this article at Ars Technica today and, though it's an April Fool's joke, it got me to thinking. What should Apple call the next major OS release?
I don't like the idea of abandoning the roman numerals. "Mac OS 11" doesn't have any pizzazz to it. If it were me, I think I'd keep "Mac OS X" and just roll the version number to "11.0".
Another possibility: Since OS X is basically the NeXT OS, NeXTStep, perhaps the new version should be called "Mac OS NeXT."
